Brighton! What a town. If you have never been out on the razzle in Brighton, you need to get yourself up and do it. Sometimes places are difficult to find, sometimes you have to go on a real treasure hunt to dig up the little gems that are waiting for you. But man, when you find them, what gems they are! We all know the famous places to go, London, Paris… Ibetha still holds the crown for a good clubbing continue reading »

Tenange Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie - is the age of animated film dead in the face of marketing CGI?

Is it just me or do movie lovers now rarely have animated films appear in the theaters? I’m not talking about CG. I’m looking at the last one I saw actually that was animated being The Simpsons Movie. Other ones have gone to direct to video because I guess it has something to do with them not selling as well or just because they can. Truthfully I don’t hate CG at all and think it works given the circumstances and continue reading »

People: Sell your home to me!

I am getting so sick and tired of living in an apartment. Though we live in a nice neighborhood that is relatively free of crime and disarray, I’m getting so tired of apartment living. Whenever we buy anything, we have to haul it up three flights of stairs. It is not the sweat I mind from this task, but the logistical problems it presents. Also, we currently reside in a 1150 square foot apartment. I need MORE SPACE! Our lives are continue reading »

Jack Johnson Rocks!

Jack Johnson Rocks!

Here is much anticipated world concert tour for Jack Johnson newest album “Sleep Through the Static” on Friday, June 13th at 7pm at Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville. This will be my first time visit to much anticipated concert. Before I visit the great concert I was just imagining Jack Johnson on the huge building wraps around.
I had a fear that there might be severe thunderstorm warning to visit with Jack Johnson on the kick-off of his 2008 summer tour. This may not have been the largest crowd he’s ever played to, but it had to be close. Jack appeared on the kick-off of his 2008 summer tour in Noblesville, Indiana right outside of Indianapolis the building wraps were as if lit fire. He was looking out on a sea of people approximately 60,000 or so attendees and the building wraps very rocking as I imagined before visiting the concert.

Johnsons wife Kim, and their two young children where also present at the venue. He has a very strict no-press policy when he’s touring, which is a good sign.

As Jack took the stage, the lawn and pavilion seats were flooded with youngsters and oldsters, all wet and muddy from their trek in during the downpour.

I got thrilled as he sang “Good People” and I felt like I was taken to the other world

My big recommendation for shows at the Ed fringe are Lie-in, the Itch and the Whore’s Robe , Driven at Rocket @ Demarco Roxy Art House and Sketchy Beast .

Say, do you know Free Bird?

Hey guys, sorry it’s been so long. Would you believe me if I told you I’d been playing Guitar Hero solidly?
Considering I usually play on a Les Paul standard, you might be tempted to think, ‘why play a videogame instead of the real thing?’

And you’d be forgiven for thinking that. Truth be told, when my mates first introduced me to Guitar Hero 2, I was the only one laughing - they were being serious? Yes, they were being serious.
I honestly sympathised with them. None of them had musical instrument experience, except for maybe the recorder at primary school, so I figured ‘ah, let them have their toys’. But when they suggested I have a go, I couldn’t help but chuckle. I mean, not wanting to sound big-headed but, Stairway to Heaven was the first song I ever learnt to play.
Nevertheless I decided to humour them. They started me out on the easy level. ‘Ok, no problem’, I thought. For some reason however, at first, it did not feel at all easy. There’s only 5 buttons on the controller, and on easy you only have to use the first 3. After playing a few songs, though, I adapted to it fairly quickly, and even if I was essentially playing DDR on a lump of plastic, I felt like a guitar God! Do not underestimate this - it’s quite a feeling! After that I was hooked, rocking out the hits, jumping around so enthusiastically I nearly knocked over the chilled water machine in the corner of the room! I went out the next day and bought Guitar Hero 3 for my XBox and have been playing it non-stop. It also doubles up as great exercise tool to help with fast weight loss but only if, like me, you choose to bounce around the room like some sort of demented hyperactive kangaroo.
