Tenange Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie - is the age of animated film dead in the face of marketing CGI?

Is it just me or do movie lovers now rarely have animated films appear in the theaters? I’m not talking about CG. I’m looking at the last one I saw actually that was animated being The Simpsons Movie. Other ones have gone to direct to video because I guess it has something to do with them not selling as well or just because they can. Truthfully I don’t hate CG at all and think it works given the circumstances and the abilities to pull off certain stunts that live action couldn’t. The key to getting the sales has to be now the e-marketing because of the power of the Internet. It is up to producers to get the job done and help get as many people to buy the products as much as possible.

A CG I saw recently had to be the TMNT movie that came out, the first Turtles movie since 1993 and I will admit they did well with it. There is a place for CG but I do not think animated movies should ever really be forgotten. Maybe once in a while put some out in the theaters. There were some good ones that I saw like the Ultimate Avengers movies in particular. While they were not CG, I think they could have done well in the theaters but the DVDs were good. It shows that you can make some good Marvel Superhero movies. The Simpsons Movie was actually really well done. To me, it brought some of that magic back that made me enjoy The Simpsons over the years.

Maybe once in a while go ahead and put some out. Perhaps if the movie is good, it will get people watching in the first place. Perhaps it could also be the ticket prices and not wanting to go out to the theaters. Who really knows for sure? I would like to see some more movies that are animated actually and not CG even though I don’t hate CG.
